Worth every penny. My wife was buying candles from different stores and we always disagreed on the smell preference, but when this candle arrived, she was astonished by its smell.

Absolutely divine!, January 21, 2012

I love this candle and just ordered a bunch more. The scent is clean and fresh, not cloying or overpowering, and the glass holder is heavy and pretty. Everyone who walks into my home comments on how great it smells. It lasts a long time too – I highly recommend this!

I was having trouble with some aches and pains and I saw the Village Naturals Aches and Pains Mineral Bath Soak. I figured why not give them a try. Couldn’t hurt. I enjoyed the aroma because I had some allergies bothering me and then I stepped into the tub. I soaked for about 15 or 20 minutes and I did not want to get out of the bath. All I can say is, I hope they have bunches of this stuff, because I am a believer and I want more. My head, body and allergies feel better. I am going to try the other ones as well.

It was like an ice bath!, October 9, 2010

I have never ran to the computer to make a product review, but this time I did. I bought this product because I always have tension pain in my neck and shoulders. The smell is very strong, but nice. Usually, I dump half the bottle or box of salts in, but since the smell was so strong, I decided to follow the directions. I am glad I did. The menthol in the product made my HOT bath water feel ice cold. I didn’t really like that effect, but I could feel my tension release. About 15 minutes was about the most I could stand because I felt physically cold. It is 15 minutes later and I still feel the tingle. My skin is very soft and I am not going to need moisturizer. So, overall, I guess it did its job. I was just very surprised to feel so cold in a very hot bath. By the way, DO NOT get it in your eyes unless you have something besides the bath water near you to rinse them! And the previous comment about taking a big whiff out of the jar is just like putting a Hall’s up your nose.

wow it doesnt get rid of the pain all the way but makes your skin feel smooth and you feel even better when you get out this is the only product on amazon so far that i would but on a weekly bases i tried another one of the products too just as great why i dont see more reviews i dont know

Worst heating pad EVER!, August 24, 2010

I purchased this heating pad set based on the rerview, and because I had a similar product(that was great, but getting worn from daily use over years), which I wanted to replace. When the set came I was very disappointed! The fabric is extremley hard and uncomfotable! which defeats the whole purpose of a heating pad. The only reason I gave the product one star is because it does get hot.

When I called and informed the seller that I was not satisfied with the product I was told that a repackaging fee would be deducted from my return. The product came in plastic bags with tape, which I resealed in the same condition I received them in! Total rip off! BUYER BEWARE!

A decent kit but quality is just ok, March 16, 2011

In general this kit is pretty good. The items I used most were the shoulder pack and the back belt. They get hot and they stay hot for a decent amount of time. When I decided I wanted these herbal packs it was because I used an herbal pack that a friend had. These packs did not smell as nice when heated and I don’t think they use a high quality fill compared to some other packs out there. Also, my shoulder pack broke and obviously the stuff came out. It looked like these things are filled mostly with rice or something. I’ll try to post a pic of the filling one of these days.

Also, the picture shows the items in purple. Mine came in black and I would have preferred the purple.

In general I like the kit and I’m glad I got it but it somewhat missed the mark in quality for me. I’ll be looking to replace some of the components with some of the made in the USA brands which will hopefully be similar in quality as to what I tried in the past.

Buyer Beware!!!, May 24, 2011

Watch out for this buyer/manufacturer. One of the four packs is NOT suitable to use as a heating pack at all!!! I tried heating it in the microwave and no matter how long I heated it, the temperature never changed. Then I wrote to the buyer complaining of this. He wrote back and said that this one pack (peppermint small pack) was NOT supposed to be microwaved or heated, and that it could cause a FIRE if placed in the microwave. Nice knowing that after the fact!!! The buyer suggested I contact the manufacturer with my complaint. Bad buyer, bad product, bad information… BUYER BEWARE!!!

Excellent set of oil blends, September 18, 2010

This really is a fantastic little set of oils. As other reviewers have indicated, the blends are neither too strong nor too weak; in most of the blends you can usually pick up on the “stronger” aromas right away (for example, in the meditation blend the sweet orange is quite noticeable) but never in an overpowering manner…all the components are very nicely balanced. To be completely honest, I simply cannot praise these enough. I’ve really enjoyed all of them. For those who have not the knowledge & experience (or the patience) for attempting to create your own blends, these bottles would have you really well covered. A couple of drops in your diffuser, etc. and the beautiful fragrances will lift your spirits.

Also a plus, you can tell that Eden’s Garden is a smaller operation which really has a passion for its products. They shipped my order the same day and it arrived VERY quickly (unexpectedly quick, in fact). When I opened the package, they had handwritten “Enjoy” with a smiley face right there on the invoice! Might not matter to some but for me, I think it’s really a nice little touch that can go a long way with a customer. Really a golden buy in my opinion…

Am enjoying!, March 5, 2010

I like this set so much. I bought it after a friend told me about it.

The patchouli in the Aphrodisiac blend is distinctive but not overpowering. The Relaxation is perfect for unwinding those frazzled nerves after a crazy day. The aroma is mainly lavender, but the other oils in it keep it from smelling all flowery. I mix the Renew blend with soap, vinager and water to clean my floors. It leaves a fresh clean scent in the house and I feel I have pushed away viruses. I think the Stress is my favorite, but cant really pick…I like them all.

They came quickly in the mail (even shipped on a weekend) and arrived intact. They all smell very nice, seems to be good quality oil. My husband had some minor allergy flair up and used the Breathe oil in the diffuser – he says it helped. I don’t know how effective they are other than that but they do smell nice. With shipping it came out to a little over a bottle which is a pretty good value; certainly cheaper than the closet place to me that sells these types of things.

Product has been changed and now contains sodium benzoate, January 21, 2012

I used to LOVE California Baby products, they seemed like a great company and their products contained no parabens, sulfates and other potentially unhealthy chemicals. This product worked well for my children and I was very happy with it. WAS. In the past couple of months, CB has changed, reformulated, their products. Here is a direct quote: ‘Due to the volume of comments and questions on our Facebook page, we have been unable to respond individually to each person as we normally do. Instead, we have compiled a response to the most frequently asked questions below. As natural products consumers, you hold the companies you purchase from to the highest of standards, and we applaud you for that. In fact, we were founded by a mom just like you who decided to dig deeper into the products she was using for her children. However, before making any purchase decisions or spreading information to other moms online, we urge you to take the time to look at the available data (we suggest [...]) and decide for yourself what is safe for you and your families. We remain committed to creating the safest, most effective natural products available and are thrilled to have customers as devoted as you are as part of the California Baby family.

A RESPONSE TO YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR USE OF SODIUM BENZOATE IN WASHES AND BUBBLES: First, we discovered after extensive testing that the preservatives we were previously using (Capryloyl glycine and undecylenoyl glycine) were, over the life of the product, causing the products to separate, thus making them less effective. Although you could simply shake to mix the product, that wasn’t up to our quality standards, so we decided to seek a new preservative that would be just as safe but would keep the product consistent over its lifetime.

We then learned that there was new research about sodium benzoate, a preservative that there was previously insufficient information about. Based on the results of these new studies, sodium benzoate has since been certified as allowed for use in organic skin care products by Ecocert, a certifying organization that sets standards for organic cosmetics. It is approved by Whole Foods for use in premium skin care products and is also ranked as a 1 out of 10 (with 0-2 being the lowest hazard level) by the EWG’s Skin Deep Cosmetics Database. After a thorough analysis of the newest safety data and extensive testing of the final products, we determined that it was a suitable substitute to the previous preservatives in our washes and bubbles. As a bonus, since it is certified as allowed for use in organic skin care, it actually brings us one step closer to organic certification for our final products. There has been a lot of misinformation circulating about sodium benzoate. This is because much of the information that is available online about sodium benzoate is in regards to its use in soda and other beverages, and is not applicable to its use in skin care products.

In addition to sodium benzoate, we also added gluconolactone, which is corn-derived, non-dairy, and is ranked as 0 on the EWG’s Skin Deep Cosmetics Database.

A RESPONSE TO YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR CALENDULA CREAM: Due to the issues discussed above with our previous preservatives (capryloyl glycine and undecylenoyl glycine), we made the decision to use new preservatives (caprylhydroxamic acid and glyceryl caprylate) in our creams and lotions. These are naturally derived from coconut, are from the same class as amino acids as the previous preservatives, and have the same properties and functionality. As well, due to an unsteady supply of organic safflower oil that met our specification, we switched to organically-grown canola oil and added it to our Calendula Cream for extra moisturization. It is produced in single-item facilities, which ensures it has no cross-contamination with nuts, another example of our very strict ingredient standards.

Some customers have noticed that our Calendula Cream has a slightly different smell. This is because we recently began extracting calendula in-house, so it is much more concentrated and has a more pronounced herbal scent. Because it is more concentrated, we can use less of it but get the same level of effectiveness as before (this is also why it has moved down on the ingredient list). You can see the difference in the picture on this post.

Some customers have also said they are experiencing irritation from the cream. Since the ingredient changes were very minor and the products went through extensive safety testing before they were released, the irritation is likely being cause by a sensitivity to essential oils. We suggest customers who are experiencing this switch to the Super Sensitive/No Fragrance lotion.

great product, safe for baby, August 6, 2011

i put in a lot of time and effort to make sure the products i use on my baby are safe; specifically, i try to avoid products that contain phthalates, parabens, and other harmful substances. i tried a lot of different body washes for this purpose and found that most of the safe and natural washes either smell really bad and/or don’t work that well. of all the products i’ve tried, the california baby was my favorite. it’s very pricey but it’s so pretty concentrated so we only need to use a tiny drop to wash my entire baby, head to toe. (plus babies don’t need that much soap anyway.) we’ve been using the california baby body wash for about a month now with baths everyday, and the bottle is still practically full–it looks almost brand new still. the smell isn’t as bad or strong as some of the other products–it doesnt have the gross “unscented smell” nor does it smell so strong that my baby smells like he just came out of a spa. plus, once he’s all dried off, the smell doesnt linger so he just smells like baby. also, my baby developed eczema at about 3 months old and i’ve noticed that his skin has gotten much smoother and softer recently. this stuff is expensive but totally worth every penny. it works well and it lasts!
