Even for a guy, it’s good, December 28, 2007

I blush to think any male with whom I am acquainted will ever read this review, but I have to recommend this stuff to anyone wanting their feet to feel better. Ladies, I’m a guy, and generally couldn’t care less about my tootsies–unless I’m stepping on toys in the kid’s room. Anyway, I bought a Brookstone foot spa for the Mrs, and some of this stuff for her to use with it, and tears came to her eyes when she put her feet in! And she has really dry, cracked, feet. These folks sent a sample of their Tea Tree Oil Foot Balm, and I’m including that in the order, too. I rubbed it into her feet, and it fixed some mild psoriasis on my hands! Buy with confidence! MAN NOTE: This stuff smells great with a Bolivar cigar! A real treat–just don’t let the guys know… ;]

Good stuff to soften hard calluses, April 22, 2010

I’m also a man, and I’m not ashamed to use this product myself. I’ve got the driest, most cracked-up heels and forefeet I’ve ever seen, and they require a lot of care just so I can walk around without bleeding on my socks.

I use (and recommend) FLEXITOL heel balm, whose active ingredient is synthesized urea–yep, the guys know that peeing on your feet in the shower kills athlete’s foot. But it’s gross. Flexitol gives you the active ingredient without any of the ick factor, and your feet will immediately feel better.

But it’s not enough. I have to just about use a belt sander on these heels if I let them go for more than a week. I can cut down the effort required to care for them by sitting down in front of the tv with my feet soaking in a hot spa with these soaking salts added. If I can leave my feet in there until they’re nice and waterlogged, I can give them a good rubbing/scratching and most of the worst dead skin just sloughs off. Much better than a plain water soak.

Then I let my feet dry completely, and sand what’s left with a fine grit emery sander “heel board.” Then hit it with the Flexitol and I’m good for a week or so with only the ointment in the mornings.

If you’ve been struggling with heavily cracked feet, you might want to consider a foot soaker as part of your maintenance. It will help you.

Sweet Stuff, May 23, 2008

I love the Tea Tree Oil Foot Soak! After walking around all day in very uncomfortable dress shoes, my feet were on fire and killing me! After 10-15 minutes of soaking, my feet felt refreshed and the pain was completely gone! I will definately buy more when I run out!

I buy from Amazon constantly, and am an Amazon Mom member as well as Amazon Prime. You can buy this product directly from the CB website for cheaper. Usually Amazon has prices that can compete with others, but definitely not in this case, so do your research!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff!, August 8, 2011

i’ve done a lot of research to find safe products for my baby–free of parabens, phthalates and other harmful chemicals. i’ve tried tons of different safe baby products and most of them just don’t work as well or smell really terrible. in the baby isle, i always skipped over the california baby products because they were so expensive. i started with their baby wash and liked it so i decided to try their lotion too and i absolutely LOVE it! it makes your skin SO SO SO SOFT and the smell is nice and light. before this lotion, i only used aquaphor on my baby’s skin (recommended by his pediatrician for his eczema).

i’ve done a lot of research on baby products using the EWG’s skin deep database (creating my own reports for products on in their database) to make sure to minimize the harmful products i use on my baby. aquaphor is rated a 2 out of 10 (the lower the number, the less harmful the product is) so i was ok with that, since a lot of even “natural” or “hypoallergenic” products rates at least a 3 or 4. california baby is even better–their lotions are all rated a 1 out of 10.

california baby is very pricey, but their products are truly safe for baby and work so well. i’ve yet to find any other product that compares.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST LOTION…I have ever used, September 27, 2010

I began using California Baby (CB) products during my third pregnancy after spending literally several hundred dollars on popular natural and organic toiletries as well as laundry detergents due to VERY severe pregnancy induced itching. Which unfortunately never resolved after delivery.

Fortunately, I finally gave in out of desperation and the astounding amount of positive reviews across the internet, and I tried CB lotion although I had already given up on anything helping. All the other products I had tried were also free of parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, etc., so I had little hope of this one making a difference. Wow! Wow! Wow! I was truly impressed with this stuff. The itching was almost completely cleared up. I cannot think of a better way to describe how well this lotion absorbs except to say my skin seems to literally drink it. I live in a very humid area. Even during the summer when I would normally be sweating my lotion off some how I only seem to sweat.

I chose this particular scent (they have various scents or frangrance free also) first to use on my two year old also to help her relax at night even though I never could tolerate the smell of lavender very well. I just ordered another bottle of this because it seems over time I have become attatched to the lavender fragrence. Also this particular lotion is more soothing than the others I have tried, and it is not just the fragrence. It is actually calming to your skin! That to me makes it more unique than any other lotion I have ever used. There is no substitute. Not even one of the other CB lotions. They are all wonderful. This one just seems to go above and beyond the others.

Note: Of course with itchy skin any thing with any kind of scent or perfume is very likely to make it worse. California Baby uses essential oils to scent their products making it less likely to cause irritation. They have a website where you can read more about the ingredients.
