Our soaps are made the old-fashioned way. They are hand-crafted using natural ingredients and include pure essential oils and organic botanicals. Known as Castile soap, our base is one of the gentlest and moisturizing of all soaps. We employ the “cold processing” method and do not add heat or chemicals to the soap pots. This process produces a bar full of natural glycerin, which is a by-product of the soap making process. Unlike most soaps on the market today, we do not remove this glycerin from our soap because it is a humectant, which helps attract moisture to the skin and can be gentle enough for even the driest and most sensitive of skin. Additionally, we do not add preservatives, colorants or fragrance oils to our products. Our soap is made with your skins well-being in mind – no harmful synthetics, just pure ingredients from nature

I came to natural soaps later in life, and this soap is an example of why I did. The scent is very pleasant and not overpowering or perfumey. It doesn’t smell a lot like either tangerine or grapefruit… inasmuch as you might expect it to have a Jolly Rancher flavor smell. At first I was disappointed by this, but as I use it day-by-day, I’m glad for the subtlety. The bar is big enough that you might want to cut it in half… another reason for this is that it goes soft (even on a drainage rack) after a week or so… it doesn’t develop that gelatin layer that many soft soaps do, though. The lather isn’t really sudsy, but lathered skin is somewhat slippery, almost slimy with a bit of grit. More pleasant than I’m making it sound, and it rinses clean and leaves a nice feel on the skin.

I can’t say enough positive things about Plantlife soaps. I came to natural soaps for a very specific reason–a husband whose eczema was virtually out of control. For years, we’d tried keeping him on soaps designed for sensitive skin. While this would generally calm flare-ups slightly, it wouldn’t prevent them from creeping up again. Admittedly, since beginning to use Plantlife’s soaps, my husband is NOT eczema free… BUT his skin is drastically improved and his flare-ups are down to about 10% of what they once were. The scents of Plantlife’s soaps are remarkably pleasant too. I’ve yet to find one that is offensive to my nose–they’re delicately done, not over-powering or too “perfume-y.” So if you’re thinking of switching to herbal soaps to treat your skin to the best, most natural clean possible–try some Plantlife soaps. If you’re simply looking for some aromatherapy or some way to mix-up your usual soap routine–try some Plantlife soaps. I bought several of these soaps for token gifts for my sons’ girlfriends, and some for me. The one I kept, almond scented, is very pleasant, but the aroma is feint. I was hoping for something that would smell lovely in the bathroom all the time, or at the very least, that would smell lovely while I used it in the shower. In order to enjoy the aroma, it is necessary to put the bar close to the nose. I have since found other soaps which deliver a better aroma and paid less. |

I have purchased this candle many times from local stores and the scent is always quite strong. It can be smelled throughout the house. In this one, however, the scent was so faint that you can/could barely smell it in the room where it was burning. First off when you open the package you just get that beautiful strong scent of REAL Lavendar. So many ‘top line’ products claim to use real organic ingredients but the nose knows best. Shipping was obviously done by someone with pride and love for thier product, personally I would have rather had something other then the packing peanuts because I have a 10 month old and a 2year old. Loved the free sample of thier Pink Grapefruit soap and the 4 dollars in Holiday bucks both made just more of a stronger argument to splurge and purchase from them again. When I did get the chance to take a shower, usually when the kids are asleep and the husband is checking his fantasy football team, I snuck away and was immediatly blown away. The warm, steamy shower with the lovely essance the balls produced just made all my stress melt away. It was hard to come out of the shower but when I did I noticed my two year old had crawled in to my bed (more then likely to attempt a marathon night) and was sound asleep. I carried her to bed when she looked up and said ‘you smell beautiful Momma’. Sappy I know but how can you argue with the honesty of children. Overall this is an excellent product and I can’t wait to try the others! Bravo!

Soap comes with a very true patchouli scent. Earthy, deep, rich and intoxicating. Nothing fake or obnoxious about this smell. I have peeling skin on my hands from sensitive skin and over-washing using regular soap, but when I tried the patchouli soap, the peeling skin seemed to heal and the hands are very soft. The consistency of the soap kind of reminded me of Cetaphil – so it’s not really a foaming soap or anything like that. It’s easy to rinse off and doesn’t leave any gross film. I love the patchouli scent and would personally use this as a bath. I like the pump bottle because I really dislike bar soap. Another bonus is, I’m very sensitive about smells and products, but this soap did not make my eyes water and did not make my allergies act up. As much as I love patchouli, some other store products had activated by allergies and made me miserable. This is just a great natural product. Anyone who is into patchouli and nature would love it. This is without a doubt the BEST Patchouli hand/body wash I have ever tried. I have only used on my hands thus far but I can tell ya that it works wonders. My hands feel clean and soft after rinsing. I tend to have very sensitive skin when it comes to soaps and lotions but this soap seems to an almost healing quality. That’s right! At least this is the case with me on my skin.
