Important Notes About Essential Oils:
Please use common sense when using essential oils. If any problems should occur, discontinue use immediately and consult your physician.
- Keep your essential oils fresh and potent by leaving the bottles tightly capped and away from heat and light.
- Essential oils are flammable. Keep away from open flames. Exercise caution when using essential oils with candles, lightbulb rings, and simmer pots. To scent a candle: After extinguishing a candle, Essential oils may be safely added to the molten wax. Wait for wax to resolidify before lighting.
- Keep away from face, especially eyes and mucous membranes.
- Keep out of reach of children. Do not use on infants and children.
- If you have pets, especially small animals or birds, be advised that many Essential Oils are harmful to pets even if only inhaled. More Information
- For external use only. Do not take Essential Oils internally, unless under the supervision of a Medical Doctor qualified in clinical Aromatherapy, as recommended by The International Federation of Aromatherapists.
- Do not operate equipment or vehicles after use of relaxation or sleep inducing oils and vary prolonged or constant use of the same essential oil. Exposure to excess or concentrated essential oils may cause headaches or other symptoms. Use with caution and adequate ventilation.
- When applying essential oils to the skin, always dilute 2 - 5 drops of pure essential oil with 1 teaspoon or 5 ml of carrier oil, like sweet almond oil or jojoba oil.
- Before applying any essential oil mixture to the skin, perform a patch test by applying a small quantity with a cotton swab to the on the back of your wrist or inside forearm, cover with a bandage and leave on for up to a day to test for a reaction. If irritation, itching or redness occur, bathe the area with cold water. Discontinue use or reduce the concentration level used.
- Certain essential oils should be avoided if you have health conditions like epilepsy, diabetes, high blood pressure, pregnancy, or sensitive skin:
- EPILEPSY: Fennel, Lavender, and Rosemary.
- DIABETES: Peppermint, and Eucalyptus.
- HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE: Clary Sage, and Rosemary.
- PREGNANCY: Basil, Cedarwood, Cinnamon Leaf, Citronella, Clary Sage, Clove Bud, Fennel, Juniper, Nutmeg, Peppermint, Rosemary, and Spearmint. Lavender is an emmenagogue oil but may be used in low doses the last trimester on individuals with no history of miscarriage.
- RISK OF TOXICITY: Use these essential oils with caution and do not continue for more than a few days at any one time: Basil, Cedarwood, Cinnamon Leaf, Clove Bud, Coriander, Eucalyptus, Fennel, Juniper Berry, and Nutmeg.
- SENSITIZING: For individuals with very sensitive skin or allergic sensitivity some oils my cause a reaction. Basil, Black Pepper, Cedarwood, Cinnamon, Citronella, Clove, Coriander, Fennel, Fir, Ginger, Lemon, Lemongrass, Nutmeg, Orange, Peppermint, Pine, Spearmint, Tea Tree, Vanilla, and Ylang Ylang.
- PHOTOTOXICITY:Bergamot, Ginger, Pink Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, and Sweet Orange. Can cause skin pigmentation and irritation if exposed to direct sunlight.

- Luminessent Candles soy wax products are not formulated to be skin-safe (Do not use as massage oil).
- Avoid contact with plastic, varnished or painted surfaces.
