I love this idea for doing with the kids for Advent. My sons, 3 and 5, loved making a candle (with help from me). They look great and are easy to create. But the downside is that it’s only 3 nights into Advent and 1/3 of the first candle is gone. If you’re planning on using this for a kids’ Advent wreath to be used for only a few minutes each night or to burn only on Sundays, then this will be perfect. But for us, we burn ours for prayer prior to eating and all through the meal so it’s really not practical as it’s burning through too quickly so I’m going to have to buy another candle set. We got this last fall for Advent 2011. It made very nice candles that we used every night during dinner and I think all but one purple and the white candle lasted the entire season. And 2011 was a long Advent! We have enough sheets of beeswax to make candles for next year, but I don’t think it will last 3 years because we did need to replace one or two candles. It is still a good deal, and will give us extra sheets for the next kit we buy – probably for Advent 2013. If you have family members with allergies, using pure beeswax is much better than the typical paraffin candles, and these are pretty and long-lasting as well. I liked them so well I bought the sheets of red beeswax and made candles for Christmas too! Beautiful, By
